WorldFest is a Houston based international independent film festival with 59 year of history. Each year, many Asian filmmakers submit their work to compete with films from around the world and the best of the best are screened at the 10 day festival here in Houston in April. Among the screenings this year are films from China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, and India.

Lending institutions that lend in the Houston District will be on hand to meet with existing and start-up business owners to discuss funding for small businesses. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet multiple lenders in scheduled, one-on-one 15 minute sessions. Also, meet SBA Houston District Office representatives and engage with SBA's Resource Partner network who provide free one-on-one business advising.

Harris County is conducting a Disparity Study about its utilization of Minority- and Woman-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs). This research project will examine whether all firms have equal access to contracting opportunities on the County’s prime contracts and associated subcontracts and recommend strategies to ensure full and fair competition in County contracting.

The City of Stafford, in partnership with the Asia Society Texas Center and the Asian Chamber of Commerce, is proud to announce an Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) celebration in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States. This vibrant event will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday May 8, at the Stafford Centre.

PeopleFund’s Small Business Accelerator is a free statewide program designed to help Texas entrepreneurs strengthen and grow their businesses. The program focuses on expanding access to small business loans and business development education.
