The U.S.-Japan Council, Genji Sake, Mutual Trading and Asia Society Texas will host Kanpai! A Saké Tasting Tour of Japan next Friday, June 6, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Asia Society Texas. The event will celebrate the vibrant diversity of Japanese saké with saké sourced from different regions in Japan. We currently have 14 unique sakes and 4 beers to sample including: Kinoene Hanayaka Takumi JG, Hojun Zuiyo Junmai, Michinoku Onikoroshi AL, Funaguchi Kikusui Sparkling, Hakkaisan Yukimuro JD, Kubota Junami Daiginjo, Yamada Juro Umeshu, Akagisan Junmai Ginjo, Ryujin JDG Namazume, Nigori Kinushi, Shinpaku JD, Suigei TJ, Red Ale Echigo, Kyoto Yuzu Ale, Kyoto Matcha IPA, Agara Pale Ale and Agara Sansho Ale.
The due date for the 2024 AIES has now passed.  Businesses who received an invitation to respond to the survey but have not yet replied are receiving overdue notices from the U.S. Census Bureau with instructions on how to respond and how to get assistance. Response is required by law. Businesses that require additional time to respond can request an extension by logging onto the Respondent Portal, entering the authentication code sent to them by mail or email, and accessing their survey card.

The event aims to strengthen partnerships among law enforcement agencies, government officials, and the local business community to enhance public safety, prevent crime, and promote economic resilience. Through open dialogue, collaborative problem-solving, and resource sharing, this symposium will tackle key issues including crime prevention, business security, and legal protections.
Lending institutions that lend in the Houston District including traditional lenders, credit unions, microlenders, and certified minority development institutions will be on hand to meet with existing and start-up business owners to discuss funding for small businesses. Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to pitch financing needs to multiple lenders in scheduled, one-on-one 15 minute sessions! Appointments are scheduled 1st come, 1st served.

Doing Business with TxDOT is an event series hosted by the TxDOT Civil Rights Division in partnership with local district offices. These events serve as a platform for connecting DBEs with TxDOT and industry personnel. Attendees will hear from key district officials about upcoming projects, the DBE program, the certification process, and compliance information.
