Dr. Dalia Sherif is one of Houston Business Journal 2019 honorees as a “Woman Who Means Business” and a “Woman to Watch.” The journal honored her long career in higher education, integrated marketing communication, media, business development, behavior change, and educational leadership. During her tenure with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Dr. Sherif identified trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, proposed potential business deals by contacting potential partners, and explored opportunities. She served as a professional analyst and adviser to the Principal Commercial Officer and U.S. Ambassador in planning, organizing, and administering programs to facilitate the marketing of U.S. goods and services. She also assisted U.S. firms by developing marketing strategies, researching and writing market reports, planning and executing trade events, counseling U.S. exporters and facilitating matchmaking programs. Dr. Sherif maintained professional expertise in assigned sectors and managed portfolios that require a high degree of analytical capabilities including: defense, renewable energy (solar, hydro, wind, and alternate forms of energy), aviation, polymers, oil and gas, tourism, and education. Currently, an educator sharing her international business experience with her students. She is also the Lead Faculty at Lone Star College. Dr. Sherif holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational psychology and an MBA, in addition to two post graduate business certificates from Edinburgh Business School. She has been awarded several Superior Honor Awards and Meritorious Honor Awards from the US Departments of State and Commerce.
