Christy Poisot has worked for Shell Oil Company for twenty-five years.  She currently works as an Information Digital Technical Advisor for Subsurface & Wells with a deep background in Information Risk Management, Cybersecurity, and IT.  She has co-hosted and lectured about Cybersecurity topics at several industry conferences (I4, API).

She holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of St. Thomas, a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Houston-Downtown, and an Associate degree in Multimedia and Web Design from the Art Institute of Houston.  Her certifications include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Corporate Governance in Enterprise IT (CGEIT), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), and Project Management Professional (PMP).

Memberships include: American Petroleum Institute Vice Chair, International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Information Systems Audit and Control Association member, Project Management International member, Advisory Board member of Rice University Chao Center for Asian Studies, President for Shell Oil Company’s professional women’s network Women Adding Value Everywhere (WAVE), Filipino Young Professionals, Asian Pacific American Women Leadership Institute Fellow (APAWLI) for the Center for Asian Pacific American Women (CAPAW), American Leadership Forum Class 37.   She is currently the National Vice President of the Filipino American National Historical Society and will Chair the 2024 National FANHS Conference in Houston.
