Paving the Way for Small Business AANHPI Matchmaking Event

In observance of Asian American and Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and President Biden's Executive Order 14031 to advance equity, justice, and opportunity for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, USDOT Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) will be hosting a Small Business and Matchmaking event. This virtual event will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 1:00PM until 4:30PM EST.

Business owners will learn about opportunities ranging from capacity building resources for small businesses, how to do business with USDOT, an overview of DOT’s procurement process, where to find contract opportunities, how to navigate DOT’s procurement forecast and available technical assistance.

Matchmaking sessions for small businesses and disadvantaged business enterprises will be available as one-on-one meetings with federal and state contracting officers, prime contractors, and DOT contracting officers. We also seek to include DOT's procurement specialists, grant administrators, technical assistance specialists at the federal, state, and local levels, financial resources, prime contractors, and other stakeholders where businesses will be matched. Additionally, the targeted outreach would provide industry networking and matchmaking with prime contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers through our new Connections Marketplace platform.
